Hi there
At the end of last week, I was asked if I could make a new home card. The remit was that it needed to be very girly in pink and purple, and feature a unicorn. This is VERY girly for me. I'm not really into pinks and purples in a big way. I don't mind some shades of them but they aren't my go-to colours for sure.
I created this interactive card using the Shutter Card die and Shutter Card Add-On die from Lawn Fawn. The recipient can remove the purple band with the unicorn from the front of the card, and when they open the two sides of the card, the shutter opens up to reveal the little sentiment from the Lawn Fawn Home Sweet Home set ...
For the front two panels, I used Mama Elephant's Quick Stripes Creative Cuts die. These are a great way to use up scraps. I simply chose lots of pink and purple scraps of cardstock and then I cut out a piece of white card that I covered in double-sided tape. I then took lots of different sized strips that I adhered to the white card. Finally, I die cut the pieces using the stitched strip from the Shutter Card die set.
I decided to keep the inside of the card quite simple as the colours were already bold enough. I felt that adding more detail could make the card way too busy!
I thought I would use Lawnfawnatics Challenge's latest challenge and Paper Craft Crew Challenge for inspiration. Lawnfawnatics challenge is to create a card with a book, movie or song theme. Paper Craft Crew is to create a card with critters.
I chose The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe for my movie theme as it has both a unicorn and a castle in it. I decided to use the castle from Lawn Fawn called Critters Ever After and of course, the unicorns are my critters. I thought a castle would be fun instead of a traditional house so that it linked with the fairy tale theme.
I coloured everything with my Zig markers. Sadly, I didn't remember to take a note of the different colours I used this time.
I hope you like the card.
Thanks for stopping by. Hope you have a fabulous day!
